For the first time in the club's history, Datchworth had players representing the club in all 4 girls youth age groups, as well as the Women's Senior side.
The u12s took part in a Pitch up and Play event at Welwyn while the older groups all had fixtures as part of the newly formed Girls Herts League.
This season our u14s and u18s are clustering with our friends from Hertford. This was the first opportunity for the girls to test their new partnerships. Although both sides lost their games, bonds began to form and we're excited to see how things develop over the course of the season.
The u16s with a full Datchworth squad, took on Hertford at home. In a tight fixture with the lead changing hands throughout the 60 mins, the girls came out on top with a 33-27 win.
To complete the set, the Women's XV took on Tabard in their first home league fixture of their NC3 campaign. A 56-0 loss against an experienced side, but if you want to know what team spirit looks like, come and watch these players enjoy themselves on a rugby pitch for their next home fixture on 22nd October.
Datchworth offers girls rugby for new and experienced players from school years 5 to 13 and for Women aged 18+. Come along to one of our Wednesday night training sessions to join in the fun. 7pm to 8pm for u12s to u16s girls and 8pm to 9pm for u18s girls and Women.
